Welcome!
My name is Nahal, better known as Ms. A to most, and I’m entering into my 12th year as an educator. I taught 2nd grade for 6 years and have been in an instructional coaching role for the past 5 years. I now support our TK-5th grade teachers with strategies to make grade-level content accessible for their English language learners.
I miss my own classroom often, but I absolutely love supporting and building stronger relationships with my colleagues. I feel honored to have the opportunity to visit three different elementary school sites and work with educators.
Here you’ll find strategies and knowledge to help you support ALL students. My goal is to bring you content that helps you make your classroom more equitable, differentiated strategies that provide opportunities for your students to deepen understanding through discourse, and activities that allow your students to celebrate their unique identities and experiences.
I honestly believe that there is no harder job than being a classroom teacher. Sure, I might be biased, but it takes so much organization, planning, and thoughtfulness just in those hours you are with your students. I’m not even considering all the 785 other hats educators wear! I hope that you find this content digestible and valuable. I hope that it truly makes your life a little bit easier.
Please feel free to reach out via the contact page or leave comments on the blog posts. I’d love to answer any questions and connect with you as much as possible!
